The purpose of the Assistant Marketing Manager - Contract role is to assist the Marketing and Communications Manager by leading all day-to-day BAU advertising, entertainment, marketing, and promotional activity required across DOOLEYS venues. Driving visitation, spend and membership through effective targeted tactical marketing is core to the role. The role will act as the internal lead for all marketing department requests and the execution of all general marketing activity end-to-end - from strategic intent, execution, to ROI reporting and optimisation recommendations. This is delivered with the support of three direct reports. The role is a senior member of the marketing team supporting the department head, Marketing and Communications Manager, as required.

Role Responsibilities: 

  • Lead and develop the BAU marketing plan with the support of three direct reports.
  • Manage the day-to-day operational marketing activity end-to-end including all advertising, entertainment, marketing, and promotion activity, schedule, and content plan to drive business objectives.
  • Lead and oversee the annual marketing operational calendar including the planning of tactical promotional activity and key events to identified target audiences to enhance customer engagement and brand awareness.
  • Organise major activations/events to enhance brand visibility and customer experiences.
  • Lead on all in-house collateral development including collaborating with the in-house design team end-to-end for promotional assets - from briefing to execution. This includes content development and creative direction, (print and digital) including photography and videography as required.
  • Key stakeholder lead for all marketing department requests from the business including signage, print, and advertising as required.
  • Manage the reporting of all marketing campaigns end-to-end to track success and provide recommendations for optimisation and improvement.
  • Oversee digital strategy and content including websites, social media channels plus email and SMS marketing activities.
  • Support with external agencies including suppliers, digital agencies, and designers as required.
  • Support the Marketing and Communications Manager as required.

Qualifications:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Marketing, Commerce, Economics or Business essential Responsible Service of Alcohol Qualification
  • Responsible Conduct of Gaming Qualification
  • Demonstrated record of marketing and/or communications management with no less than five years' experience at that level
  • Experience with leading, managing and development of staff.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, with a sharp eye for detail.
  • Advanced MS Office skills
